Gaining permission to use our track

We had many problems in trying to find who had the production rights over Backstreet Boys, therefore we posted a comment on one of their fan pages, FanPop, however, we did not receive any replies.

Through research, we found that Backstreet Boys were signed to Jive records, which is their American production company, under the banner of Zomba Music Group, operated under Sony Music Entertainment (UK)

We also found that Backstreet Boys have left Jive records- Backstreet Boys leave Jive Records  but they still have one more album to release with the company, and that they have not signed themselves to anyone else as of yet- Backstreet Boys label

Therefore, it is Zomba music group, that we need to get in contact with to gain permission to use Backstreet Boys- As Long As You Love Me.

We contacted Sony Music, who then gave us a number for someone called "Shirley Clarke"

She then told us to email her the details of our coursework, and our intentions with the music video.

This was our reply

As there was clearly issues with using the music video online, we emailed Shirley, full details on how long it will be on Youtube and Blogger for, and to make sure we are not using it for any commercial gain.
