Myself, Megan Claydon, and Emmie Bryett ( two A2 pupils from Ilkley Grammar School, aged 17, are creating the a promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video together with a cover for its release as part of an album digipak (CD/DVD package) and a magazine advertisement for the digipak (CD/DVD package.)

The Wanted

The Wanted are a British- Irish pop boy band, their debut single "All Time Low" made number 1 in August 2010. 

One of the most modern boy bands, I have decided to analyse their music video to see if boy bands do still keep to the "traditional" boy band music videos in the modern era.  

  • Industrial urban setting, which is seen in many original boy band music videos (Boyzone- No matter what)
  • An opening shot of all the members
  • Low angled shots, to show there "superiority" 
  • Smoke added for dramatic effect
  • Like JLS, the members are wearing low cut tops, Chinos, shirts
  • All members appear to have their own individual style
  • Close up shots of them lip syncing the lyrics
  • Looking straight at the camera
  • Hand gestures
  • Shots of the industrial scene
  • Spotlights
  • Shots of all the members of the band
  • Dance moves
  • Alternate who is at the front singing
  • Over exaggeration of emotion
  • In sync dance moves
  • Two shots
  • Shots of them all walking together
  • Jumping around "being boys"
  • Holding fire
  • Slow motion with the smoke
  • Not lip syncing the whole song
