Myself, Megan Claydon, and Emmie Bryett (www.g324-sum2011-emmie-bryett.blogspot.com) two A2 pupils from Ilkley Grammar School, aged 17, are creating the a promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video together with a cover for its release as part of an album digipak (CD/DVD package) and a magazine advertisement for the digipak (CD/DVD package.)

Heavy Metal- Performance Video's

Heavy metal (often referred to simply as metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and the United States- Wikipedia 


Performance Video's-
  • Fast pace editing
  • Flash lightning
  • Gothic- black and white
  • Jumping- lively- energetic
  • Leather, studs, long hair, tight black skinny jeans
  • Individual long shots of the lead singer 
  • Close up shots of instruments 


  • Often close up shots of drums- show the vibrations- can include multiple shots, such as the use of hands, feet, high angled shots, low angled shots
  •  Shows the ability of the band members
  • Audience- long shots of the whole audience- shows enjoyment- promotes people going to see the band live


  • They use an audience that you want viewers to see
  • Close up of the audience's hands
  • Facial expressions
  • Singers point of view shots
  • High angled shots
  • Low angled and medium shots of the singer
  • Two shots with main singer often being in the shot
